Why should you market your product or service? If you are a large corporation or maybe even a well-informed small business owner, this post may not apply to you. Now for you other folks who still think marketing is a waste of money, read on. Marketing is the life-blood of your business. Let me say that again in case you didn't understand it. Marketing is the life-blood of your business. Without marketing you are indeed doomed to fail.

No longer is it okay to start a business and hope for the best. You have an obligation to yourself and your future customers to share with them what you have to offer. And you must do this on a regular basis. Consumers deserve to be marketed to. You do not get the right to expect folks to just show up and make a purchase. Consumers want to be courted, they want to know that you really want them to make a purchase. And get this. They also deserve the truth about your product or service. You can't beat them over the head with your slick sales presentation and drag them off to the register to make a purchase. Don't even attempt to do that.

The average consumer today, has a PhD in bullshit. They know when they are being had, even if you do manage to get them to purchase your product, you can be sure it will be returned if it does not work as you said it would. So being honest applies when marketing your product or service. Don't say it unless it is true. Now here comes the best part. Why should you market your product or service?
